Year 2 and 3 - Honey Bee class
Summer 1 Review
This half term we have been learning all about famous nurses. Despite it being so short, we have still managed to fit so much in! We have learnt all about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole and how significant they were. In our writing we enjoyed creating a fact file about Florence Nightingale which involved us researching our own fun facts all about the famous ‘Lady with the Lamp’. Did you know she had a pet owl called Athena?! Or that she had over 60 pet cats in her lifetime?!
Our Maths involved learning all about time, we explored minutes, hours and seconds and compared different durations of time. In year 3, we had to being learning all about a digital clock and how we can convert between analogue and digital. Tricky stuff!
Our Computing involved learning about databases and records. We compared the pros and cons of computerised databases against the pros and cons of paper-based databases. We also learnt the vocabulary ‘field’, ‘record’ and ‘category’. In DT we have explored wearable technology and how that has changed overtime and our PSHE unit has involved our wellbeing and taking care of our emotions.
We have enjoyed a short overview of cricket in PE, with a focus on batting, fielding and catching. It has been lots of fun enjoying this sport in the sunshine on our field. We also enjoyed taking part in the schoolwide colour dahs, getting coated in paint and soaked by water guns.
We have crammed so much into such a short amount of time, only one more half term to go before we move up a year group!
